The Kevin Catlin Memorial Trophy award for 2023-24, given out by the Trust board, could only have been given to the medical team at LTFC after their heroic efforts at Bournemouth on the afternoon of December 16. The role that they played in helping to save the life of Tom Lockyer who had a cardiac arrest that day will never be forgotten by anyone who was there at the Vitality Stadium. But for their composure in extremely difficult circumstances a traumatic day would have been even more tragic.
Their compassion and humility in the months since then just shows the class with which those inside the medical department operate and they deserve all the plaudits that they rightly receive. The Trust board felt that they were the most fitting recipients of the Kevin Catlin Memorial Trophy for an outstanding contribution that went way beyond football and the football pitch.
