The Luton Town Community Trust are running a couple of projects that they require your assistance with to help them deliver.
The first project involves providing various group activities including socially distanced group walks, with further activities to be added, as well as individual support.
The second project has seen the Trust taking over the book delivery and collection service on behalf of the library. Volunteers are needed to collect eight boxes of books from Luton Central Library and deliver them to the addresses provided. The majority of the people this service caters for are elderly, those who live alone or who have a disability or health condition which makes getting out difficult, so it is nice to have a chat with those people as that may be the only interaction they have.
Loneliness is a major issue in the UK with a recent study showing that 7.4 million UK residents had felt their well-being had been affected through their having felt lonely in the past seven days.
If you can help the Community Trust deliver these projects, or are someone who could benefit from them, you can contact Adam Woulds, the Business Development Manager for the Trust, on Adam.woulds@lutontown.co.uk or call him on 01582 561622.
