The Kevin Catlin Memorial Trophy for 2024-25 was given to Tony Murray. Tony was influential in the creation of the Luton Town Supporters’ Trust and was heavily involved in the movement to get rid of John Gurney from our football club in 2003. He took himself out of his comfort zone to address more than 3,000 supporters in the Main Stand as the plan to oust Gurney was created and his involvement in the Trust did not end there.
He embarked on two lengthy runs as chairman of the Trust with the latest one ending during the 2024-25 campaign. In his time as chair of the Trust, LTST enhanced its profile to be one of the bigger Trusts in football, so highly thought of that we were invited to give a presentation to Tracey Crouch MP as part of the fan-led review under his leadership.
Above all, as well as the many achievements the Trust had under his stewardship, Tony’s humility and passion for our football club never diminished and as such he was an obvious choice for the Kevin Catlin Memorial Trophy for 2024-25.
