Luton Town Supporters’ Trust welcome the news that the decision regarding the refusal of a lease to Luton Town Football Club on the site at Cutenhoe Road has been called in.
We were surprised by the decision, not just as it takes away the potential for the Club’s academy to grow and go to the next level, but it limits growth and opportunity for children in the town.
As a result of that, our chairman sent a letter to the Executive Committee members of the Luton Council on Thursday, requesting a full explanation of the decision and the opportunity to make representation on the issue.

The news that the decision has been called in means that it will now be referred to the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Board to review. They have the option to refer this back to the Executive Committee or to the full Council.
Therefore we would urge all Luton residents to send a letter to their local councillor to register their support for the lease so that an important development, not just for the Club but for the town at large, can take place.
Your councillor has been elected to represent your views, so although your elected representative may not be a part of the Board reviewing the decision, strong weight of public support could still make a big impression on the overall outcome.
