In keeping with one of our aims and objectives of engaging with and promoting the many international groups around the world, we turn the focus onto the LTSC Canada group which will be celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2024.
The group was formed in 2004 by two men, Tony Hull and Bob Balchin, who met in a pub in Toronto to share their love for the Hatters.
Tony is originally from Hitchin and his support of the Town dates back to the 1950s. He was present at the 1959 FA Cup final against Nottingham Forest and has maintained his love for the club ever since.
Bob grew up in the Rumfold and Limbury area and his love affair with Luton began in January 1966 when he went to his first match. His rates the Littlewoods Cup success in 1988 among his most magical moments supporting the Hatters.
The two began the Canadian group of Hatters by getting family in friends involved before branching out to reach Luton fans across Canada. The group have regularly watched matches that have been shown on TV in Canada in the Scallywag’s Pub in Toronto, and as part of their networking with other supporters groups in the country have appeared on radio shows.
After a slow start to building up the group as we fell down the leagues interest is growing at a rapid rate, and they hope to attract more supporters to the group to be able to continue to promote the Hatters right throughout the huge country that is Canada.
