Triumphant Season for the Under 18s

Luton Town Supporters’ Trust would like to add its congratulations to the Under 18 squad on their outstanding and successful season.  Not only did they achieve a League and Alliance Cup Double, but they also reached the last eight of the FA Youth Cup and were extremely unfortunate to go out at Blackburn Rovers at the quarter-final stage.  They were victorious on the pitch in nearly every game they played and their style of football was something to behold, with a quick passing game that left many of their opponents chasing shadows.

If you haven’t already seen it, take a look at their FA Youth Cup win at Notts County – you won’t see two better goals this season at any level.

Luton Town has a long and proud history of developing its own talent although for a variety of reasons, the production line has stuttered in recent years.  Luton fans love to see their home grown talent reach the first team – the recent appearances by Zane Banton and Frankie Musonda were greeted warmly by the Kenilworth Road crowd even though the team were struggling a little at the time.

Well done to all the squad, and to Paul Driver and Andy Awford, and we look forward to more first team appearances from this group of talented youngsters next season.
