The Trust give support to 61FC (Luton) Football Club

The 61FC (Luton) Football Club have been based in Luton for the past 56 years. The club which is affiliated to the Bedford County FA, is the only purposely run amateur football club in Luton and currently fields 3 teams.

On 17 October 2017 their clubhouse at Kingsway Recreation Ground was the victim of an arson attack resulting in damage to the roof and internal electricity supply. The estimated cost of repair will run into thousands of pounds, money that the club don’t have. They launched a Crowdfunding campaign which by 23 November had raised £2305 of the £3000 pound target set.

Luton Town Supporters’ Trust as part of its remit to support local football has donated £50 to the campaign. General Secretary Brian Thompson said ‘61FC have been heavily involved with youth football over the years in the Luton area and will come back stronger. Mindless criminality like this will not stop this great club’.

61FC chairman Richard Everitt emailed the trust to thank us for the donation.
