LTST Presentation Evening 2018

Seven players received awards as the 2017-18 season was celebrated in wonderful fashion at the annual LTST Presentation Evening at Venue 360 on Sunday evening.

Alan Sheehan bagged the big prize of the LTST Player of the Season and also picked up the award for the Internet Player of the Season, voted for by users of With Alan away at the PFA Awards night in London it was Town fan Nicky Toone who collected the awards in his absence.

An enjoyable evening began with our MC, Simon Pitts, announcing the winner of the Goal of the Season which went to Olly Lee for his tremendous 70 yard effort against Cambridge United. The Bobbers Travel Away Player of the Season was the next award to be presented which went to Harry Cornick.

We then paused to remember the supporters, players and those connected with LTFC that we have lost over the last year with our ‘In Memoriam’ tribute which was followed by the awarding of the LTST Outstanding Contribution award.

This award is always very special to the LTST committee but even more so this year as the recipient was Kevin Catlin, a man who is sadly no longer with us, but who was a special friend to many of us and without whom there may not be a Luton Town FC any longer. We were delighted that Kevin’s daughter Siobhan accepted the honour on his behalf and we are proud that going forward this award will be known as the Kevin Catlin Outstanding Contribution Award.

It was the turn of the Ian Pearce Memorial Trophy to be presented next. This went to the player who received the most man of the match awards in home matches. The winner was Elliot Lee.

After a break for dinner we resumed by revealing that LTFC supporters have raised a phenomenal £7,374.31 for the Supporters’ charity of the year, Keech Hospice. The awards resumed with the Junior Supporters’ Player of the Season. Our junior fans voted for their favourite and the winner for the second year in a row was Danny Hylton.

The final three awards were the Young Player of the Season, chosen by Nathan Jones and his coaching staff, which went to Jack Stacey, the Players Player of the Season where Dan Potts was the man voted for by his peers and then the coveted Player of the Season.

In amongst presenting the awards, Simon interviewed Mick Harford, manager Nathan Jones, chief executive Gary Sweet and club captain Scott Cuthbert on the stage on what was an evening which highlighted everything that is great about our club.

Once the evening was over we caught up with the winners who were present for their thoughts on their awards and the season as a whole. You can see their reaction in the video below. The videos that were shown during the evening will be uploaded to our YouTube channel in the coming days.

Our thanks for an excellent evening go out to our social events committee who organised the whole event, to Venue 360 for being wonderful hosts again, to Simon Pitts for compering the evening impeccably and of course to the players, management staff and directors of LTFC for being part of such a great event.
