LTST chairman Tony Murray made the presentation, which was captured by club photographer Gareth Owen, to Banita Mistry, Regional Fundraiser for Keech, at the meeting, and was delighted to hand over such an amazing amount.

“Since the wonderful idea of having an official supporter’s charity for each season was developed, I have always been amazed by the generosity and good will of Luton fans in the amount they have raised through a series of fundraising schemes” he said.

“The amount raised for Keech Hospice Care was a phenomenal total. Well done to everyone who gave something towards such a great figure. Keech were great people to work with throughout the season, and we wish them all the best in their fundraising efforts for the future”

Your money is already making a big difference. With that total, Keech Hospice Care can provide:

  • 243 hours or 10 Days and nights of nursing care in their in-patient unit

  • 214 sessions of ART THERAPY sessions to help a patient come to terms with a diagnosis

  • 142 sessions of BEREAVEMENT CARE to help with families come to terms with their loss

  • 59 sessions of HOLISTIC THERAPY sessions to help alleviate pain.

On behalf of the charity, Banita expressed her thanks for all of the fundraising efforts. “We’re very grateful for the support of Luton Town Football Club’s Supporters’ Trust for raising an amazing £9,243 for us during the last year through some incredibly exciting and unique challenges including a stadium seat challenge and quiz night.

“As a charity, Keech Hospice Care, cares for adults in Luton and south Bedfordshire and children in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes with terminal and life-limiting illnesses. And we rely on our community to help us raise around 70 per cent of that, so there has never been a time when support like this has been needed more to ensure local families get the excellent care they deserve.”

The LTST board would like to thank everyone who made a contribution to such a staggering total, not least our very own committee member, Helen Gatward, who raised an outstanding £2,512.62 when running the Love Luton 10k race.

We wish Keech Hospice Care all the very best with their endeavours in the future, as they continue to provide incredible care and support for many people.
