Farewell John

The Trust in Luton committee, on behalf of all supporters, would like to place on record our thanks and sincere gratitude to John Still for everything he has done for the Club and the success he had whilst in charge.

Our Conference winning season will live long in the memory for many years to come, from the celebrations after Cambridge away, the fantastic scenes at Kenilworth Road on that Easter Monday in April 2014 where we lifted the Conference trophy, to our first game back in the Football League, or the many other great moments. Everyone will have their own memories to cherish of a successful time in our history.

They were made possible by the desire, determination and hard work of one of the nicest men and most knowledgeable managers the Club has ever had.

It wasn’t just the success on the field we admired and cherished. We regained both our identity and our pride for our Club during the period John was in charge and for that Town fans everywhere will forever be grateful to him.

Whoever led the Club back into the Football League was always going to go down in our history and John Still will rightly take his place among the other great men who have served this Club with distinction through the years.

We would like to wish John all the very best for the future. He will always be welcome back at Kenilworth Road where he will most likely have a pint in his hand and reflect on those wonderful experiences with anyone present.

We would also like to wish Andy Awford good luck on Saturday and urge everyone heading to St James’ Park to be vocal in their support of the players in their quest to get the result we need to climb the table, and start looking upwards again.
